First Peoples Law LLP is seeking a Senior Corporate Commercial Paralegal to join our growing team dedicated to defending and advancing the rights of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

The Senior Corporate Commercial Paralegal will have the following qualifications:

graduate of a recognized Paralegal program, equivalencies will be considered
minimum 7+ years of experience as a paralegal in an active corporate/commercial environment
advanced computer skills including solid proficiency with ALF and BC Online
strong client service skills with the ability to foster solid relationships
strong work ethic and positive team attitude
sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
prior First Nations experience is preferred but not required
a sense of humour
Description of Position
The Senior Corporate Commercial Paralegal will work collaboratively with the firm’s partners and associates to:
draft and file documents for formations of limited partnerships, corporations, societies and other entities
perform complex editing and formatting for correspondence and documents
Oversee and maintain minute books, corporate database and corporate documents and records
prepare corporate organizational and operational documents including incorporations, name changes, alterations, amalgamations, restorations, dissolutions, annual resolutions, changes to directors and officers, banking resolutions, documentation of flows of funds and other related transactional tasks
perform corporate entity searches
draft share/asset purchase agreements
prepare and file annual reports
perform due diligence reviews of corporate records and prepare rectification resolutions as necessary, conduct and review public searches in connection with due diligence matters
invoice clients and follow up on outstanding accounts
respond to daily inquiries from lawyers, business teams and external counsel and handle day-to-day requests regarding corporate legal matters
other duties and responsibilities as required
The Senior Corporate Commercial Paralegal will work on a full-time basis out of the First Peoples Law office in Vancouver.
Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
