The lawyer will have the following combination of skills and experience:
1-2 years of legal practice experience
excellent knowledge of legal fundamentals
strong work ethic and positive team attitude
strong analytical, communication, drafting and writing skills
digitally enabled/engaged and comfortable with using and learning technology
ability to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
called to the bar in British Columbia
a sense of humor
Additional assets:
experience working with First Nations and/ or practicing Aboriginal law
demonstrated interest in public legal education
Description of Position
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our team to deliver high-quality legal representation to our clients. This includes legal research, drafting, litigation, negotiation and support on specific claims.
The lawyer will work on a full-time basis out of the First Peoples Law office in Vancouver.
The estimated salary range for this position is between $100,000 – $120,000. Compensation will be determined on an individual basis, taking into account the applicant’s qualifications, skills and experience, applicable market rates, and other relevant considerations.
