Meet our team

Rowena Pangilinan
Legal Assistant

Growing up in Vancouver, I was always fascinated by Indigenous culture.  Working in Aboriginal Law was an opportunity for me to learn more. I started here in 2007 and I quickly realized I knew very little about Indigenous people and their cultures. I am very grateful for what I’ve learned so far and continue to learn every day.  I really enjoy meeting and getting to know our clients whenever I get a chance.

What I found working here was a dedicated and passionate team who cared deeply about the work they do and the people we work with. I really appreciate how personable the firm is.  My educational background is in Criminology and I have certification as a Law Clerk. Providing administrative support and gaining knowledge in this field has been very rewarding and fulfilling.

Outside of the office, you can usually find me travelling, camping, fishing, knitting or taking a class to learn something new and artistic. I recently learned how to sew and can successfully make reusable grocery bags, masks, aprons and many other random things you didn’t think you need until it’s in front of you. I also enjoy participating and raising money for the CIBC Run for the Cure and the Arthritis Society, which hold a special place in my heart. And every year, I organize the collection of coats and sweaters for the homeless in our community.
