The lawyer will have the following combination of skills and experience:
4 or more years of practical experience in the field of Aboriginal law
creative and collaborative approach to problem solving
ability to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
interest and ability to participate in client and business development
strong client service skills with the ability to foster solid relationships
strong work ethic and positive team attitude
able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
willingness to travel
comfortable working in First Nation communities
called to the bar in Ontario and/or British Columbia
a sense of humour
Description of Position
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our team to deliver high-quality legal representation to our clients.
The lawyer will work on a full-time basis out of the First Peoples Law office in either Ottawa or Vancouver.
The estimated salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $180,000. Compensation will be determined on an individual basis, taking into account the applicant’s qualifications, skills and experience, applicable market rates, and other relevant considerations.
