Meet our team

Nico McKay

A commitment to justice and principled advocacy drew me to the study of law. Throughout law school I immersed myself in the study of Aboriginal and Indigenous law under leading Indigenous scholars and lawyers. I am dedicated to contributing to the ongoing work of decolonization through critical self-reflection and humble service to work that substantively advances Indigenous sovereignty.

I am grateful to work alongside highly skilled colleagues at First Peoples Law to provide sound, strategic and relationship-centred legal advice to our clients. It is an honour to serve our Indigenous clients’ vital work to ensure the recognition and protection of their inherent and treaty rights.

Outside of work I enjoy walking in the woods with my family, volunteering within LGBTQ2S+ communities, and reading legal biographies.
